Don't bother
trying to find an owl in this picture. They will dictate the terms of future sightings.
The nighttime calls of Ward and June returning with food tell me that the owlets are
within 100 yards of their former home and doing well. I did catch several glimpses
of Theodore on the 28th and 29th as he flapped his wings near the top of a large
maple about 200 feet back in the woods. He could not have picked a more beautiful or
secluded spot. I suspect that Wally went straight up the large pine that holds the nest
box (center of picture) and is still there. At some point, Ward and June will reunite
them, but it would take an incredible stroke of luck for me to see them.
