Ward is seen here
sticking his head through the doorway as June reaches up to take the mouse he delivered in
a rare daylight appearance. After Ward left, June sat on the floor with the mouse for
several minutes while repeating the mystery
sound that we first heard on April 2nd. Who would have guessed that she could make
such a strange noise? She then decided that she was tired of dining in and flew away to
eat her mouse--It was a beautiful spring afternoon. June returned about ten minutes later,
did a "shimmy-scrunch", and resumed incubating her eggs. Ward's hunting has
improved lately and it's beginning to look like he might actually be able to provide for
three owlets. He made one more delivery last night and that was also met by June's strange
sound.
