| While June looked calm enough as she incubated her eggs all day, she finally lost her patience with Ward when he stopped by just after dark without bringing any food. While she never left the nest, she let him hear about it by repeating her loudest and most unpleasant squeal for almost five minutes. He appeared to get the message and returned an hour later with the first of four meals that he brought directly to the nest box before midnight. I guess he just needed a little reminder. | |
