June
entered the nest in daylight today and spent nearly two hours working on
the wood chips. She is still a bit nervous about being in the nest and
peeps out -- as she is seen doing here -- to check out every suspicious
sound. When she finally did decide to leave, it seemed a struggle
for her to climb up to the door and fly away. The extra weight of a few
eggs is enough to slow her down a bit.
This daylight housekeeping visit is the strongest sign of nesting yet and came only two days behind the schedule she followed last year. |
