Sigh of Relief

The great horned owls have not been heard in the area for two nights and things are almost back to normal around the nest box. Ward is again roosting in nearby trees where he can keep an eye on the nest when he is not sleeping as he is shown doing here. He made two deliveries directly to the nest last night and called June out for some loud hooting on a third visit. June called to him at 11am today and he responded vigorously with his best classic hoot. If all continues to go well, the first egg should hatch in about a week.
