This page
will provide reports on chance sightings of members of the owl family as
Ward and June spend the summer preparing the three owlets for life on
their own. It should take them only a couple of weeks to master flying
basics, but the development of hunting and other survival skills will take
much longer. Meanwhile, the adults will be very busy trying to meet the
ever growing appetites of the young owls. Ward continues to confine most
of his hunting to the night, while June often extends her activities into
daylight. This picture of Emily and Seymour was taken on June 9th as they
branched high in a maple tree. |
