 Last night
marked another record for food deliveries with an incredible 23 before
dawn. Each delivery set off a riot among the owlets who seem to have
unlimited capacities. As with the previous few nights, most of the
deliveries came before midnight and were often separated by less than five
minutes. This picture of Rufus and Emily flanking Seymour shows just how
much bigger they are and gives a hint of how crowded things will soon be.
Rufus was already rehersing for his departure this morning by doing winged
leaps from the back to the front of the nest. At the rate he is going, I
would not be surprised to see him stick his head out the door by the
weekend. Actually leaving the nest is quite another thing and I do not
expect that to happem before late next week. |
