 Ward
made five daylight mouse deliveries before noon, June took a seven-minute
outing, and Seymour held his own in a wrestling match while she was
gone. That's Rufus in front with Emily climbing on top of him from the
right and a very tiny Seymour reaching up to peck him on the head from the
left. June is just entering the nest behind them to resume brooding the
tired but well-fed owlets. I'm especially pleased with Ward's performance
as he now understands just what it will take to provide for three owlets
and is risking the hazards of daylight hunting to give them what they
need. The owlets all look extremely fit and there is plenty of food in the
nest. |
