Solitude

June is now enjoying what should be her last week of peace and quiet before the first noisy owlet cracks it's shell. This could happen as soon as Wednesday, but I would bet on Saturday or Sunday because of June's part-time incubation during the first few days. When she is not preening her feathers, as she is seen doing here, she is either sleeping or turning wood chips into sawdust. Ward had another outstanding night with five food deliveries and each was greeted by June's excited squealing. He called home at 10am this morning and June responded with her abbreviated classic hoot before going back to sleep.
