This
whine is June's way of letting Ward know that she is still hungry. As
dawn broke this morning, she repeated it many times while the fussing of
distant crows told her that Ward's hunting was finished for the day. I was
surprised by this because he had made two food deliveries, but guess that
they were not "mouse size" portions. The whining should inspire
Ward to do better tonight. June continues her total devotion to her three
eggs and took only a couple of seven minute breaks last night. She is now
sleeping in the warm sun. |
